Nicolas Kayser-Bril pioneered the concept of data-driven journalism in continental Europe. A self-taught journalist and developer (and a graduate in Economics), he started by doing small interactive, data-driven applications for Le Monde in Paris in 2009. He then built the data journalism team at OWNI in 2010 before co-founding Journalism++ in 2011, of which he is the CEO. An invited professor at the University of Neuchatel, Nicolas has carried out over 30 trainings for journalists of all ages in a dozen countries, from Lilongwe, Malawi, to Santiago, Chile. He is a renowned speaker at many IT and journalism conferences, such as Strata London, Netzwerk Recherche (Hamburg), Naprej/Forward (Ljubljana), Digital Journalism World (Singapore) and many others. Nicolas is also one of the main contributors to the Datajournalism Handbook, the reference book for the popularization of data journalism worldwide.
